BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS)
The Pulse Academy Programs
Basic Life Support (BLS) Course Options (Blended & Classroom)
The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is available in two different training methods – blended learning and classroom training. All ACLS course options teach the same AHA science-based skills and result in the same AHA ACLS Course Completion Card. The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Course Completion Card is valid for two years. In the classroom, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Blended, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations online in the comfort of their home. Then students schedule in-person to work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam.
